Renowned director Rich Moore has entered into an exclusive, multi-year overall deal with Skydance Animation. The Oscar-winning director known for Zootopia and Wreck-It Ralph, will now create, develop and produce original animated features for the studio.
Moore won the Oscar in the Best Animated Feature category in 2017 for his work on Zootopia. He was also nominated for his work on Wreck-It Ralph and its sequel, Ralph Breaks the Internet.
In his long animation career he has spent many years in TV animation before working in features. He has also worked on The Simpsons and The Critic.
As per a Deadline report, he spent 10 years at Walt Disney Animation where, in addition to his mounting features, he served as part of the Disney Story Trust and creative leadership on titles such as Tangled, Frozen and Moana.
Skydance is the diversified media company founded by David Ellison in 2010 to create high-quality, event-level entertainment for global audiences. The company first launched with feature films and has since strategically expanded to include television, interactive, animation, new media and sports, with studios in Los Angeles, Silicon Valley, Spain and Canada.
