Sony YAY! is always ahead to offer kids with variety of their favouriate shows and characters, the channel has an expansive library of 550+ hours of animation content, 800+ episodes including six originals shows, and 70 telemovies, successfully reaching 50 million + kids.
Sony YAY! has now announced festive line-up of fresh content, new shows filled with different flavours of fun, friendship and laughter. The kid’s leading entertainment channel brings in the most favourite and popular show of the decade Oggy and the Cockroaches airing from 11 October Monday to Friday at 1:30 PM.
Oggy and the Cockroaches is the most popular show with large global fanbase. Commenting on the new show coming in this festive season and how Oggy and the Cockroaches is different from the already existing shows, Sony YAY! head- programming Ronojoy Chakraborty said , “This festive season, each new narrative and character is handpicked to suit the ever-dynamic palate of Indian kids and our goal is to curate a wholesome experience of their favourite characters at one destination.”
He also added, “Oggy and the Cockroaches is the show running from many long years and has been the most favourite show for the kids. Our channel recreated the script with the existing visuals and added voiceovers for each characters. Kids will witness Oggy in a new avatar. The channel has acquired all the episodes and seasons of Oggy and the Cockroaches.”
Talking about the programming strategies followed at Sony YAY!, Chakraborty elaborated, “Sony YAY! is always committed to serve and cater entertainment to kids. After pandemic we started acquiring shows and we recently signed licensing and merchandising deal with Cosmos Maya for Ding Dong Bell. We also acquired shows including Oggy and the Cockroaches, Haste Raho Henry, Obocchama-Kun. We localised our shows to cater to more audience. Our strategy is always to provide more and more entertaining content for kids, as due to lockdown, kids content consumption has grown massively. To cater to this demand, Sony YAY! came up with 140 hours of fresh content this festive season.”

Gearing up for the festive season we bring an entertaining bonanza of over 140 hours of fan-favorite shows like Oggy and the Cockroaches and the second season of the country’s top-rated show in the category, Taarak Mehta Kka Chhota Chashmah, and many more.”
After a huge success of the first season, the second season of Sony YAY!’s category-first original show Taarak Mehta Kka Chhota Chashmah will take the festive celebrations a notch higher and is all set to air from 17 October.. The channel will also introduce young fans to brand new series Haste Raho Henry.
Shedding light on Tarak Mehta’s new season, Chakraborty said, “Taarak Mehta kka Chhota Chashmah has collected fantastic ratings and it is popular among both kids and parents. The first season featured stories around primary characters like Daya, Tapu sena, Jetha and Bapuji. To make it more fun, this new season we have created stories around all other iconic characters. We have created around 30 plus new episodes.”
Further showcasing its mighty content width, the channel began its festive content line-up with fresh episodes of popular show Obocchama-Kun. The show that follows the life of a naughty rich boy who brings a laughter riot with quirky adventures for the young viewers.
Later this month, another naughty prankster, Henry will make his debut on the channel with a new show Haste Raho Henry starting from 25 September. Catch him every Saturday and Sunday at 1 PM.
Honey Bunny fans also will get to watch fresh episodes of Honey Bunny ka Jholmaal with five new movies of the iconic feline duo which will take kids on magical, mystical and fun-filled adventures. The show will air from 3 October every Sunday at 12 PM.
The channel will also bring Paap-O-Meter movies and new episodes of kids’ favourite ghost comedy Paap-O-Meter, is all set to air from December.
Pandemic has become the business booster for many kids entertainment channels because of kids dependency on television for entertainment. Once the pandemic is over the kids will be back to school, the content consumption and demand will most likely slow down. Commenting on this, Chakraborty added, “Definitely there will be a correction once the children are back to school as they will have lesser screen time. However we can’t predict the future but we can prepare ourselves for different future and Sony YAY! is doing it.”
