Toy Story’s Buzz Lightyear gets his solo movie ‘Lightyear’

Disney and Pixar dropped the first teaser trailer for the Chris Evans-starring Lightyear.

The animated sci-fi action-adventure presents the definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear—the hero who inspired the toy introducing the legendary Space Ranger who would win generations of fans.

Buzz Lightyear  the beloved character from Pixar’s Toy Story franchise is ready to make his solo movie debut in the summer of 2022. The animated feature film is also set release on 17 June 2022.

Chris Evans is well known for playing Captain America in the Avengers movies will lend his voice to the adventurous astronaut.

The trailer features Buzz Lightyear taking flight to the space where he explore strange planets, meet aliens and does many super-interesting space activities. The trailer ends with infamous catchphrase, ‘To infinity, and beyond’.

Lightyear will be released exclusive in theaters as Pixar’s last two releases  Soul and Luca went straight to Disney+ due to COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to Lightyear, Pixar will release Turning Red, which is also expected to be exclusive to theaters.

Lightyear will be directed by award-winning director and veteran Pixar animator Angus MacLane as well as produced by Galyn Susman.

Lightyear will hit theatre screens on 17 June 2022.
