Animation Production Day 2013
Business Platform for the International Animation Industry

The seventh Animation Production Day (APD), a FMX 2013 and ITFS 2013 event, will take place on 25th and 26th April 2013 in Stuttgart’s “Haus der Wirtschaft”. The application forms for submitting projects and registering for the APD 2013 are now available online.

The Animation Production Day is a business platform for the international animation industry. International production companies are invited to submit projects for which they are seeking co-production, financing and distribution partners. Projects are accepted at concept, development and production stage. Application forms for submitting projects are available to download on the following website: www.animationproductionday.de. 20 to 25 projects will be selected for participation in APD 2013.

Until now, ADP has focused on film and TV projects. This year, however, projects intended for multi-media platforms will also be considered. The digital transformation has also had a big impact on the animation industry. Trans-media and cross-media content are making project development, financing, production workflow and distribution ever more complex. Getting the right partners on board is essential. Therefore, the APD will bring together producers, service providers, distributors, publishers, broadcasters, banks and equity investors in efficient one-to-one meetings.

The programme will be complemented by the “Financing & Brands” conference where case studies and a top-class panel of experts will demonstrate ways to address the current challenges facing the industry.

For the first time this year, the APD is offering an early-bird discount. Producers and investors submitting their application forms by 24th January 2013 will receive a discount of €50 off the regular participation fee of €700 per person.

As usual, the participation fee for the APD also includes accreditation to both partner events: FMX 2013 – Conference on Animation, Effects, Games and Transmedia; and the 20th Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS). The combination of these three events is now recognised worldwide as one of the most important industry gatherings of the year.

FMX is the most influential European conference for the development, production and distribution of digital entertainment and is an unrivalled meeting place for the increasingly merging industries of film and digital entertainment. The ITFS is one of the biggest and most important festivals for animated film worldwide and offers directors, production companies and distributors a platform to showcase their films. It also provides an opportunity to explore the interface between animation, computer games, architecture, contemporary art and real-time media.
