Adult Swim has released the first trailer of Rick and Morty season six.
The brief clip provides viewers with a taste of the mischief the duo will soon get up to by showcasing several messy, chaotic situations. Highlights include what seems to be an episode influenced by Die Hard, the destruction of Rick’s space cruiser, and Beth’s return, who appears to be assisting the family in escaping danger. The upcoming season appears to be packed with robots, intergalactic combat, and cutting-edge weapons, as anticipated. Even though very little is known about what season six consists of, the official logline of Rick and Morty confirms that the upcoming season will continue from where season five left off.
Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland stated that the following season will be noticeably better than the last one, which was adversely affected by producer J. Michael Mendel’s untimely demise. The show’s creator said that while season six of Rick and Morty will be a good point of entry into the quirky series, it will also appeal to devoted fans. Roiland commented, “It really rewards fans of the show that have been watching up to this point.”
While season six will probably keep Rick and Morty busy, they have another set of escapes planned for 2022. Adult Swim is now working on an anime adaptation of Rick and Morty, which is anticipated to give the series a completely new perspective. The anime movie will be helmed by Takeshi Sano, who is a superfan of the Rick and Morty series.
The sixth season of Rick and Morty will debut on Adult Swim on 4 September.
