Anifest India 2013 set to open in Mumbai from 23rd till 24th August has announced its festival line up which as expected and as always has a strong blend of seminars including behind the scenes making of award winning animation, vfx movies, the journey of creating a comic book, panel discussion, live mass sketching and more.

The core line up of this season has a lot to offer to the animation aspirants with in depth case studies of two Hollywood Blockbusters, Life of Pi and Pacific Rim.
Vaibhav reveals here, “Rhythm & Hues India would be sharing how they created the virtual world in Life of Pi including characters, environment as well as their interactions with director Ang Lee. Lucasfilms, Singapore is going to present the making of Pacific Rim. Adam Lee their Senior FX TD would be joining us.”
Well, do you recollect Poland’s animated short ‘Paths of Hate’ that played at Anifest India’11 edition and won hearts? If you’ve skipped to see this award winning short then this time you should be there for experiencing exclusive behind the scenes explanation of it by Animation Director, Damian Neow.
“Damian will inform us about the creative as well as the technical process that went into creating the movie. In addition to this, he would also be giving a sneak peek into his latest projects.” informs, Vaibhav.
If you feel publishing your own comic book is a dream then you can turn it into reality by understanding the know how’s of it in a session by renowned comic creators, Campfire Graphic Novels and Manta Ray, who’ve contributing greatly to the comic book space.
Elaborates more, “These enterprising publishers will showcase the life cycle of a comic title right from script, research to final publication and also take us through some pages of some of their best titles”
Also, this fest is calling all the sketching lovers to make the best out of the live mass sketching which is going to happen for the very first time in the history of Anifest India editions.
Vaibhav himself along with Chetan Sharma and Dhimant Vyas are inviting you to be a part of this workshop in which they would teach the aesthetics of bringing out an impressive sketch.
“We will demonstrate how every artist perceives and expresses differently and sketching is the most basic yet best exercise to sharpen one’s observation.” Adds, Vaibhav
While Chetan, Vaibhav and the rest of the audience will sketch on paper, Dhimant Vyas will sculpt clay!
If you go into a flashback of last year’s Anifest India edition , you will surely recollect the happening story telling session by Prosenjit Ganguly and more of it is slated for this edition as he now brings to you his take on animation education.

Now, for the concept creators! If you have an animated story and not able to understand the ins and outs of getting your stories on the television screen, then get all your queries answered by the top guns of Kids Entertainment Medium in an exclusive panel discussion.
Reveals more, “Disney, Cartoon Network, Pogo, Nick will be joining us for an interactive panel discussion. The curiosity on what do TV channels want from animation content creators? And what do we want from them? Here’s the session to pour it all out!”
And, finally, the TASI Viewers Choice Awards will make this fest a memorable and grand success. So how many entries has TASI received this year? Vaibhav unfolds this, “Like every year we have received films from all over the globe for the TASI Viewers Choice Awards 13. Screenings and voting will take place on both days followed by the awards ceremony on the 24th!”
