The Studio Ghibli recently shared maps and posters of the upcoming Ghibli Park. The first phase of the park will open on 1 November 2022 and the second term ‘Mononoke no Sato’ is scheduled for fall 2023, and ‘Witch Valley’ is scheduled for the end of 2023.
According to the official website, it is a park that expresses the world of Studio Ghibli, which was created in consultation with the forest in the Aichi Expo Memorial Park (Morikoro Park). Apart from these, there are no other major attractions or rides at Ghibli Park. It is a place where you can discover secrets while walking with your own feet and feeling the wind, leaving the forest and roads as they are.
The first phase of the park is ‘Ghibli’s large warehouse,’ ‘Youth Hill,’ and ‘Dondokomori.’ The ‘Ghibli Warehouse’ is an indoor facility packed with exhibits of Ghibli works, from large to small. From robot soldiers to catbuses, soft children’s sizes, to exhibitions to get in touch with the secrets of the work, there is plenty of fun.
One can find ‘Earth shop’ that appeared in ‘Whisper of the Heart’ inside ‘Youth Hill’. Behind the ‘Satsuki and Mei’s House’ in the ‘Dondokomori’ is the ‘Dondokodo’ that watches over the Ghibli Park.
The upcoming theme park of Studio Ghibli will be a major attraction in Japan. The new theme park will have a replica of the main characters’ house from My Neighbor Totoro.
