Red Monk Studio and Sphere Animation (formerly known as Oasis Animation and Sardine Productions) are developing a new animated show promoting inter-generational relationships between women. The 52 x 11-minute animated show is titled Nadia and targets five-to nine-year old audiences. Created by Caterina Cappelli, the show marks the first partnership between both studios, which will present the show at MIFA during the Annecy animation festival in June.
The series explores the adventures of Nadia, a warmhearted nine-year-old witch, who lives with her mentor Agatha in beautiful Little Oak Town. Nadia promotes the strength and importance of inter-generational relationships, specifically the bond that the two characters build by working together to help the world around them.
Whether rescuing fantastical creatures in danger or fixing misdeeds done by the spoiled and insensitive Claude Clodoveous, both witches work in harmony to preserve the balance of nature. The series art features a rich palette of colours and the endearing character designs will delight all viewers.
Nadia is Red Monk’s first animated original production following the Superprod acquisition. The studio is currently in production with two International CG series as a vendor. Sphere Animation’s other projects include Curious George, Arthur and F is for Family. The studio is also the producer of original shows such as Chop Chop Ninja, ToonMarty, My Goldfish is Evil!, Ben’s City and 2 Nuts and a Richard, as well as recently-announced Riley Rocket and Red Ketchup.
