Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner returns as a royal for HBO Max’s new animated series The Prince. The satire, created and executive produced by Gary Janetti, focuses on seven-year-old Prince George and his antics as the first-born child of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The actress will voice the character of George’s five-year-old sister, Princess Charlotte. Janetti announced the news on Instagram with a Halloween-themed sneak peek of the show. “Meet Charlotte —Sophie Turner,” Janetti wrote in the video’s caption.
The Prince also stars Janetti as Prince George, Orlando Bloom (Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Carribbean) as Prince Harry, Condola Rashad (Billions) as Meghan Markle, Lucy Punch (Into the Woods, A Series of Unfortunate Events) as Kate Middleton, Alan Cumming (GoldenEye, X2) as George’s butler Owen, Tom Hollander as both Prince Philip and Prince Charles, Frances de la Tour as Queen Elizabeth and fellow Game of Thrones star Iwan Rheon as Prince William.
Janetti (Family Guy, Will & Grace) is well-known for posting Prince George content on his popular Instagram account. “We’re so excited to bring the world Gary’s created on Instagram over to HBO Max, where our viewers can discover what his Instagram fans already know — that George can be hilarious, shocking and surprisingly sweet,” HBO Max head of originals Sarah Aubrey said in a statement. “We can’t wait to see what Gary does with a bigger canvas to paint on than just a 1:1 square.”
“I’m thrilled to be working at HBO Max and bringing them yet another series about a family ruthlessly fighting for the throne,” said Janetti.
The Prince is produced by 20th Television and Bento Box Entertainment
