Richard Nixon tries to find JFK’s assassin in first trailer of Michael Davis’ animated film ‘Nixed’

Michael Davis is back with a new animated feature film about the late President Richard Nixon, who was involved in political scandals during his presidency. The film takes a different approach to the former president of the U.S. in this mostly true story. In the trailer, Nixon is seen focused on how and who assassinated John F. Kennedy.

What makes Nixed so astounding is that not only did Davis write and direct the film, but he also hand-animated it himself over the course of four years. The trailer illustrates Davis’s use of a variety of genres as the story unfolds, blending seemingly filmed footage with animation of Nixon driving along twisting roads. The film uses a broad range of colours, and overly stylized and caricatured depictions of important political leaders from the era.

Unlike the assassins attempting to assassinate Nixon, the trailer captures the violence, drama, and political intrigue that engulfed Washington, D.C. in the 1970s.

Rick Zieff is the voice of Nixon, while Richard Epcar has lent his voice for Kennedy’s character in Nixed. Nixon fears the same shadow government that ordered JFK’s assassination is out to get him in this adult animated political cartoon. Nixed features real-life characters like Frank Sinatra, Bill Clinton, and Jimmy Hoffa among others.

Nixed will premiere at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on 14 June. Davis, on the other hand, aims to introduce an NFT campaign later this year to help fund distribution costs and hire an additional voice actor. Nixed does not have a release date yet, but as the project progresses, more information will be available.
