While the third season of Prime Video’s adult animated show Invincible has no concrete release date, the series has already been greenlit for a fourth season by Amazon.
The announcement was made by Invincible’s creator Robert Kirkman at San Diego Comic Con during Prime Video’s adult animation panel. Kirkman was joined by Hazbin Hotel creator Viviene Medrano, The Legend of Vox Machina executive producer and voice actor Travis Willingham and Sausage Party co-creator Kyle Hunter for the panel. During the panel, Kirkman revealed the character’s new blue and black costume which will be featured in the upcoming third season.
The show premiered its first season on Amazon’s streaming service back in 2021. The first half of its two part second season premiered in November 2023 and wrapped up its latter half in April 2024. The comic book adaptation was renewed for a third season after the show first premiered back in 2021.
Kirkman revealed that production on the third season was done simultaneously with the second season and the gap between the new seasons won’t be as long as the wait between the first two. He stated in a quote to Variety that the upcoming S3 of the show will be significantly better than the S2.
