Pixar’s Mary Coleman takes charge as new CCO at Locksmith Animation

London-based animation studio Locksmith Animation has appointed Mary Coleman has new chief creative officer. Before joining the Locksmith, Coleman served as head of creative development at Pixar Animation Studios.

Coleman will start her work from July. She holds various credits under her belt, in her 23-year long career she worked with many top animation directors on films like Monsters, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars, Ratatouille, WALL-E, Up, Toy Story-three, Cars-two, Brave, Monsters University, Inside Out, The Good Dinosaur, Finding Dory, Cars 3, Coco, Incredibles-two, Toy Story-four, Onward, Soul, Luca and Turning Red.

According to Deadline reports, Coleman is the first women participate on Pixar’s Brain Trust, providing creative feedback on films in production, and is particularly proud of co-founding (with producer Nicole Grindle).

Pixar co-founder Ed Catmull brought Coleman into the fold to help create the studio’s development department in 1999. She previously served as associate artistic director at San Francisco’s renowned Magic Theatre.
