The animated show, Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head, is scheduled to debut in August. Paramount+ has revealed a trailer for the newly announced series not long after the release of the irreverent boys’ most recent movie, Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe.
When Comedy Central announced that it would bring back Beavis and Butt-Head for two new seasons with plans for spinoffs, news of new Beavis and Butt-Head content first broke around the middle of 2020. Later, the company disclosed that Beavis and Butthead Do the Universe was also in development and that the full revival will air on Paramount+, completely eschewing Comedy Central. On 23 June, the streaming service debuted Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe.
Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head will follow the titular characters’ dimwitted, antisocial, and oddly funny youth as they engage in even more mischief. Creator Judge’s 1992 short film Frog Baseball introduced the characters, who later starred in their own series, which aired on MTV for seven seasons from 1993 to 1997. In late 1996, Judge released Beavis and Butt-Head Do America, a full-length movie that he also co-wrote and directed. Beavis and Butt-Head returned to television in 2011 for one more season on MTV after being off the air for more than a decade.
