Recently, Toei Animation and One Piece Film Red movie committee presented a massive digital out of home campaign in New York City’s Times Square during NYCC to promote the movie’s upcoming 4 November opening in the U.S. and Canada. The first-ever of its kind for the anime industry in North America, the One Piece Film Red Times Square Takeover featured a specially created animation synchronized across numerous digital billboards encircling Time Square. The visually immersive two-minute looping animation was experienced by an audience made up of One Piece fans and cosplayers, NYCC attendees, visiting tourists and New York City pedestrians for one hour – from 7-8 pm.

One Piece Film Red official synopsis: The story is set on the “Island of Music” Elegia, where Uta, the world’s greatest diva, holds her first ever live concert and reveals herself to the public. However, the event begins with the shocking revelation that Uta is the daughter of Shanks.
