Nick Jr. to premiere Cake’s preschool series ‘Kiri and Lou’ from 13 June

Preschoolers are invited to enjoy a fantastical prehistoric world in the brand-new animated series, Kiri and Lou, premiering for the first time in the U.S. on 13 June at 6 pm (ET/PT) on the Nick Jr. channel.

The award-winning New Zealand stop-motion series follows the friendship between Kiri, a feisty little dinosaur, and her best friend Lou, a gentle and thoughtful creature, as they explore the world of feelings through laughter, song and outdoor adventures. Nickelodeon has acquired season one (20 x five-min) and season two (32 x five-min) from Cake for the U.S. Season three (42 x five-min episodes) will also premiere on Nick Jr. later this year.

Kiri and Lou help kids learn about empathy, friendship and how to get along, through warm-hearted and humorous stories. Handcrafted in paper and clay and created using traditional stop motion animation from Antony Elworthy (Coraline, Corpse Bride and Isle of Dogs), Kiri and Lou is voiced by Jermaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords) and Olivia Tennet (Lord of the Rings), and written and directed by feature film director Harry Sinclair (The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring), co-produced by Heather Walker of Yowza Animation, and produced by Fiona Copland for Stretchy.

Following the series premiere of Kiri and Lou, NickJr.com and the Nick Jr. app will feature short-form content and full-length episodes. Episodes will also be available on Nick Jr. on demand and download-to-own services.
