During its panel at Anime Expo, Viz Media released a brand-new trailer for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, the television anime based on the Thousand Year Blood War arc of Tite Kubo’s Bleach manga. The Stern Ritter characters are highlighted in the video. Viz Media also unveiled the anime’s key artwork.
With the new anime, Kubo promised viewers a fresh viewing experience and modern contemporary colouring in a video message he recorded for them during the panel. He emphasised that he is deeply involved in every facet of the animation. Kubo also noted that certain sequences from the manga have not yet been included in the anime, but he wants to do so in the future.
In October, TV Tokyo will air the anime’s world premiere. The remaining part of the original manga up until its conclusion will be covered by the anime. On 11 September, a special screening of the first two episodes will be held in Tokyo.
Noriyuki Abe has been replaced as the anime director at Studio Pierrot by Tomohisa Taguchi. Along with Masaki Hiramatsu, Taguchi is in charge of the scripts for the series. Shiro Sagisu composed the music, while Masashi Kudo designed the characters.
In August 2016, Kubo brought an end to Bleach, which he had started in 2001 in Weekly Shonen Jump. While Shueisha continued to release new chapters in Japan, Viz Media released the manga in North America in digital form in English, and the manga was also published in print.
