Good news for fans of Disney-Pixar’s Soul (2020)! It seems that the media conglomerate is all set to launch a brand new animated short around the acclaimed movies soon on Disney+, reports What’s on Disney Plus.
According to Disney’s list on its official Latin America press site, a brand new short called 22 Against Earth is slated to release soon. This short is a prequel to the Soul movie.
The official description (translated via Google) reads :
Before the events of Pixar’s Soul, 22 refuses to go to Earth and creates a gang with five new souls, in an attempt at rebellion. However, as the activities of his entourage yield unexpected results, 22’s subversive plan could lead to a surprising revelation about the meaning of life.
This new short is slated to premiere on Disney+ in Latin America on Friday 30 April. However, the short hasn’t been announced to be released in other regions yet, but it’s likely this might have been announced prematurely in Latin America.

Directed by Pete Docter and co-directed by Kemp Powers, Soul stars the voices of Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey, Graham Norton, Rachel House, Alice Braga, Richard Ayoade, Phylicia Rashad, Donnell Rawlings, Questlove, and Angela Bassett. The story follows a middle school music teacher named Joe Gardner, who seeks to reunite his soul and his body after they are accidentally separated, just before his big break as a jazz musician. Soul is the first Pixar film to feature an African-American protagonist.
