Netflix recently announced that the stop-motion animated series The House will stream globally starting 14 January 2022. The stop-motion animation work is produced by Nexus Studio.
The House is an eccentric dark comedy about a house and the three surreal tales of the individuals who made it their home. The three-part anthology is directed by leading independent stop motion animation artists Emma de Swaef and Marc Roels, Niki Lindroth von Bahr and Paloma Baeza.
The star-studded voice cast of the first chapter by filmmakers Emma de Swaef & Marc James Roels, includes Claudie Blakley, Matthew Goode, Mia Goth, Mark Heap, Miranda Richardson, Joshua McGuire and Stephanie Cole. The second chapter by filmmaker Niki Lindroth von Bahr will feature musicians Jarvis Cocker and Dizzee Rascal, and Yvonne Lombard and Sven Wollter.
Paloma Baeza’s third chapter will have Helena Bonham-Carter, Paul Kaye, Will Sharpe and Susan Wokoma as the lead voices.
“The House is a collection of cinematic stories that are intelligent, witty, inquisitive, warm and yet packed with offbeat humour. For this project, Nexus are bringing together, for the very first time, three of the most unique and multi-awarded voices in independent stop motion animation today in Niki, Marc and Emma and Paloma. This production is an organic collaboration between brilliant and like-minded storytellers. We’re thrilled to have found in Netflix such a perfect home for The House,” Nexus Studios co-founder and producer, Charlotte Bavasso had said earlier.
