If you think you are a true retro fan, then prove it by taking part in ‘Animation Challenge’- A Dialogue Based Competition by Native Puppets in association with Autodesk- the main sponsor of this competition.
Open only to the students pursuing animation, this all India level online competition, gives you a chance to pick a Hindi or English dialogue from Feature Films, TV-Shows that were produced and released between years 1960 to 1969 .After choosing the dialogue which charges you up, you will have to create an animated clip of 9-12 seconds by choosing a 3D character rig from the internet having good range of facial expression.
For sure, there is a punch in this competition, which Anand Baid- Founder of Native Puppets, happily shares with AnimationXpress.com’s Zeenia Boatwala by saying, “The ‘Animation Challenge’ is aimed at creating a platform for aspiring and budding students to showcase their skill sets and feel rewarded and recognized within the community. The scope is for students to participate competitively – competitions like these do tend to bring the best out of a participant and also helps set a benchmark for the upcoming talent.”
Jumpstarted on 12th August, this competition is accepting registrations till the 5th of September. The panel judging this competition is composed of renowned animation experts who in your submission will look out for the key factors like acting, facial performance and how well the character has been animated.
When asked about the factor that makes this competition stand out, Anand asserts, “Animation was missing out of the competition mix in India. We’ve already received amazing response for this competition as Participants are taking part from every corner of the country.”
And, with learning you are also going to be filled with amazing prizes as the winner of Retrologue competition will be awarded with a scholarship of INR 20,000 by Native Puppets along with an Apple IPAD-2 from Autodesk, with the second winner getting a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 by Autodesk along with Native Puppets giving professional feedback on winning entry. Last but not the least; the third winner will also be given Professional Feedback on winning entry.
