Netflix Adult Animation director Mike Moon will be leaving the OTT giant by July end to pursue other opportunities. Netflix remains committed to original adult animated content and Vine Studios, its animated series production facility that Moon also spearheaded, hence they are searching for his replacement.
As per a report in Deadline, the animation director’s move is not related to the recent changes in Netflix’s family animation unit, which included Melissa Cobb stepping down from the leadership position as VP animation film, Karen Toliver’s promotion to replace her and the streamer’s slate being paired down with the release of several high-profile projects.
Moon has worked with Sony Pictures Animation, Disney Television Animation, and Cartoon Network prior to this stint. He joined Netflix over four and half years ago to build and lead Netflix’s adult animation team.
He oversaw the launch of amazing programs like Big Mouth spinoff Human Resources from Brutus Pink, Shion Takeuchi’s Inside Job, Pen Ward & Duncan Trussel’s The Midnight Gospel, as well as highly anticipated upcoming series Entergalactic from Kenya Barris and Kid Cudi, Exploding Kittens from Mike Judge and Greg Daniels and Agent King from Priscille Presley and John Eddie.
