Mifa, the world’s leading market for the animation film industry, is back on ground this year with an array of exhilarating programs. Mifa 2022 brings more than 130 events at this Annecy lakeside market. The Annecy Festival will be held between 13-18 June 2022 with the spotlight on Swiss animation talents.
Here are the program highlights:
Mifa Pitch Sessions– A total of 32 projects have been selected among the 472 submitted this year. It will take place at the Salle de la Volière and the Salle XR@Mifa in the exhibitors area for the immersive experiences.

Mifa Campus International workshop was held in Nigeria in Spring 2022 to nurture each of the projects presented in the Partners Pitches.
Partners Screenings– The industry stakeholders will present their latest productions. Japan Media Arts Festival, Squeeze Animation Studios, etc will be present.
Share With– Head buyers and investors including Warner Bros. Discovery, Rai Kids, The Walt Disney Company, Amazon Studios, BBC, CBC Kids, Paramount Global Kids and Family, Arte, Apple TV+, etc. share what their purchasing or programme co-production needs are in 30-minute sessions.
Meet the festival programmers, composers, producers, publishers, authors, and buyer– This ‘Meet the..’ section enables the different professional categories present at the Mifa to meet during dedicated time slots on Tuesday 14 June. Reserve your time slots and organise your appointments.

Studio Focus– Discover the major animation studios including Disney, DreamWorks Animation, Passion Pictures, Nickelodeon, Sony Pictures Animation, Warner Bros. Animation, etc. showcasing their creative or technological processes.
With the spotlight on Swiss animation, Annecy Festival pays tribute to their talents. The tribute to Swiss animation will include retrospective screenings dedicated to Claude Barras, Marcel Barelli and Isabelle Favez.
