New animated series Indolent Allen created by Cliff Benfield is all set to stream on Adult Swim’s YouTube channel starting 23 June at 8 pm EST. The second and third episodes will hit the channel on 30 June and 7 July respectively, followed by the release of all other episodes on HBO Max later.
Benfield has earned fame for his absurd original characters and quick dialogue. The series is based on his concept sketches which he shares on TikTok and Instagram.
“Indolent Allen is coming to YouTube 6/23 at 8pm! Go to @adultswim channel to watch. This is the sketch that started it all. I made this two years ago and never thought I’d be pitching it to Adult Swim… for a short three part YouTube series. Mostly cause that’s a really specific thing to think. But here we are,” Cliff Benfield wrote in a social media post.
Indolent Allen (in short format) is about a lazy college student who brings out the worst in every social circle he manages to nudge into.
Cliff Benfield, Padulo, and Adam Gold have contributed towards the writing, with Gold also serving as the executive producer. The voice cast of the series includes talent from NYC comedians like Savannah DesOrmeaux, Nadia Pinder, Derick Gonzalez, and Jared Schwartz.
Adult Swim recently announced the greenlight of two all-new anime series: Rick and Morty: The Anime from director Takashi Sano (Tower of God) and Ninja Kamui from director Sunghoo Park (God of High School, Jujutsu Kaisen). Both series are in production and will premiere on Adult Swim and HBO Max.
