KidsCo today announced its September highlights for Central and Eastern Europe. KidsCo will broadcast Wallace and Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death, which it recently acquired from Aardman Animations, along with Bommi & Friends, which KidsCo developed as a co-production with Image Venture, Chennai. KidsCo will air this content from September across Croatia, Cyprus, Finland, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Turkey.
A Matter of Loaf and Death will join KidsCo’s growing library of classic movie content, which already includes other Wallace and Gromit titles such as A Close Shave, A Grand Day Out and The Wrong Trousers. The acquisition sees the first partnership between the two companies directly. KidsCo will air the film in English, Polish, Hungarian, Romanian, Russian and Turkish.
Bommi & Friends features the adventures of Bommi and her favourite pop-up book, ‘Adventures in Dazzle Land’, which she discovers can transport her into a wondrous place she thought only existed in fantasy. The program revolves around the joys of learning and the importance of friendship. Bommi & Friends is currently broadcast across Australia, Asia and Africa.
Paul Robinson, Global CEO at KidsCo, comments, “Wallace and Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death was the second highest rated film on television last Christmas, and we are delighted to be adding it to our growing library of quality movie content. Bommi & Friends, which has already proved hugely popular across Australia, Asia and Africa, adheres to our core philosophy of edutainment, encouraging kids to help make the world a friendlier place, and we are delighted to be bringing it to even more families”.
KidsCo, the global children’s television network for pre-schoolers, children aged 6-10 and families, launched in September 2007. It is a joint venture channel owned by leading media companies NBC Universal, Corus Entertainment Inc. (Nelvana) and Cookie Jar Entertainment.
