The kids sector knows no stopping! The sector has seen the highest growth rate in terms of Ad Volumes for January 2021, according to the data released by BARC India.
Advertisement volumes on television grew by 23 per cent during January 2021 over January 2020, and by 19 per cent compared to January 2019, which is the highest in the past three years according to data shared by the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC).
The increment is seen across genres, with the kids genre witnessing 35 per cent growth rate, followed by movies (28 per cent) and music (31 per cent). The GEC and news genre saw a growth rate of 23 per cent and 18 per cent respectively, in 2021 as compared to 2020.
Ad volumes growth data from 2019 to 2020 showed a dent by 4 per cent, wherein in 2019 ad volumes (in million seconds) were 112 which dropped to 108 in 2020. However, there was a significant growth in the same, in 2021 wherein the Ad Volumes (in million seconds) rose to 133, marking a 23 per cent growth in one year.
