Kids First inks global deals for hit series ‘Nate is Late’

Paris-based children’s entertainment content distribution company Kids First has inked a raft of deals with international broadcasters for both season one (52 x 11’) and season two (52 x 11’) of hit animated series Nate is Late, produced by Watch Next Media and commissioned by France Télévisions (France), Super RTL (Germany) and Canal J (France).

Kids First had sold Nate Is Late season two to leading Chinese SVOD platform Tencent, as well as streaming platform Kidoodle for North America.

Both seasons one and two of Nate is Late have been snapped up in Africa by Canal+ International for its channel in Ethiopia and by Spanish broadcaster EITB for its free-to-air channel ETB Kids. French-speaking TV broadcasters RTS in Switzerland, TV5 Monde and TV5 Québec in Canada have also picked up season two of Nate is Late.

In the UK, Narrative Entertainment has acquired season two and renewed season one of Nate is Late for its free-to-air POP channel in the UK and Ireland while leading European broadcasters France Télévisions and Super RTL, as well as Netflix, have also renewed Nate is Late season one – the highest rated show on France 4, the dedicated children’s public channel.

Kids First CEO Philippe Alessandri and series producer of Nate is Late says: “We’re incredibly proud of the continual ratings success of Nate is Late on major networks in several key markets three years after its launch. The renewals and new sales for both seasons one and two highlight how the show continues to resonate with audiences around the globe.”

Nate is Late is a comedy adventure series for six-10 year olds. Every morning, eight-year-old Nate and Malika leave home 30 minutes early to go to school, and yet every morning they arrive late! That’s because every morning, something AMAZING happens on the way. But even though their stories are always true, the school’s principal never believes them!
