Celebration of Art and Animation, Kala Ghoda Arts Festival that enters its 16th ye
ar, is slated from 1st to 9th Feb 2014 and set to enthrall the audiences by continuing its legacy of bringing together assorted forms of Art.
In this edition, you shouldn’t be missing out on workshops by Indian Animation Stalwarts starting with ‘Sketching and Cartooning for Everyone, Even Those Who Can’t Draw by Vaibhav Kumaresh, Chetan Sharma and Vaibhav More, who through, live mass sketching session will give a detailed insight into the art of sketching along with giving out tips and tricks on animation.
Chetan Sharma, Founder of Animagic, will be talking about VISUAL NARRATIVES AND THE ART OF THE ANIMATED FILM, in which he will discuss the processes of animation- the ultimate amalgamation of all arts- visual and narrative.
Present will also be renowned Animation Film Maker Nina Sabnani, who will be conducting A Presentation of her Film and a talk on film posters. Also, along with Ankit Chadha will be launching MY GANDHI STORY, a book created in collaboration with Warli artist.
A Pair of Twins, Written by Kavitha Mandana and Illustrated Nayantara Surendranath, that tells the story of Lakshmi and Sundari, an unusual pair of twins with an unusual connection, will be launched at the fest.
For photography enthusiasts, the fest is bringing in Sachin Kabir, Head of Department at FX School, who will be conducting a workshop on DSLR cinematography for documentary films.
Clay Modelers can reap benefit from SHRADDHA – CLAY CROSSING workshop, in which Shraddha will shed light on creative ideas on clay modeling and pottery.
Fusion artist, Rajendra Gole, who creates three dimensional sculptures and paintings using paper, glue and dentist’s tools, will be showing taking you through the inn’s and out’s of creating a Paper Sculpture.
Author of nineteen picture books and of WRITING PICTURE BOOKS, Ann Whitford Paul, will be taking a workshop on the unique plotting, pacing and structure of a picture book.
