The Bachchan magic seems to be at work again.
Aurangabad based Jingle Toons’ animated version of ‘Mere Paas Aao, Mere Dosto, Ek Kissa Suno’ from the album “Big B kahein – Aao Baccho” has been nominated for the International Children’s Film Festival” to be held in Hyderabad from 14 to 20 Nov 2005. The animated number is also being broadcast on MTV Asia.
Speaking to Animation ‘xpress, Jingle Toons MD Sandeep Pathak commented” We at Jingle Toons have always been interested in producing good quality Indian content which delivers some kind of value or message to kids. The song, Mere Paas Aao from Mr. Natwarlal suited the bill, since the song is funny, it gives a message (A coward’s life is of no use) and above all because it features the Big B himself”
Close to 25 artists worked for over 2 months to create the video which features 2 stereotypes of the Big B, one the 80s kind, the other being his present avatar. Other credits include playback by Sudesh Bhosle whose Bachchanesque voice adds to the video’s overall appeal.
On being asked about copyright issues, Pathak informed Animation ‘xpress that the song for the video was licensed by Sa Re Ga Ma/HMV.
“Now a days, the old songs and dramas are coming up with a re-mixed version. In comparison with that, this song is definitely different. Not only kids but even elders are liking and admiring the quality and the concept” commented Pathak who has also directed the aniamted video.
With a total team strength of 50 artists, the Aurangabad based animation studio is involved in the production of original Indian fare including entertainment as well as edutainment CD Roms and VCDs.
