Japan’s Nippon TV signs a massive anime deal with Netflix

Nippon TV, Japan’s leading multi-platform entertainment powerhouse, has partnered once again with Netflix and licensed 13 of its most popular anime titles to stream non-exclusively around the world.

The company has previously announced deals with Netflix for its kids’-first-errands reality series Old Enough!, streaming globally on Netflix in 190 countries, as well as 30 of Nippon TV’s biggest drama series and entertainment shows airing on Netflix in its Asian countries.

Hunter X Hunter

The first titles to start streaming on 1 September on Netflix are the ever-popular HUNTER X HUNTER’s first 38 episodes (148 x 30′ total), slated to stream in 104 countries including Spain, Italy, Finland, Turkey, South Africa, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates during the licensed period. Also streaming on 1 September are the Ouran High School Host Club (26 x 30′) in 190 countries and Claymore (26 x 30′) in 136 countries.

The remaining 10 titles listed in the order in which Netflix will be streaming, are: DEATH NOTE (37 x 30′), DEATH NOTE: Relight 1 (130′) and DEATH NOTE: Relight 2 (120′) in 14 countries; From Me to You season one (25 x 30′) and season two (13 x 30′); BERSERK (25 x 30′); Parasyte -the maxim- (24 x 30′); NANA (47 x 30′); Hajime no Ippo: The Fighting! (76 x 30′); and MONSTER (74 x 30′).
