Netflix announced a new animated comedy series, Oddballs, inspired by YouTube creator James Rallison’s popular YouTube channel, ‘The Odd 1s Out’ (17.8M subscribers). This animated comedy series is created by Rallison and Ethan Banville.
Oddballs follows James, a bubble-shaped boy, whose observations on life fuel his comedic rants at everyday annoyances and elevates them to laughably absurd heights. Along with his best friends Max (a talking crocodile) and Echo (a girl who claims to be from the future), James’ ridiculous schemes to question norms often result in disaster.
James Rallison, Julian Gant, Kimberly Brooks, Gary Anthony Williams, Carl Faruolo will star in the upcoming animated comedy. Sarah Soh is the supervising producer.
Rallison and Ethan Banville also serve as executive producers alongside Carl Faruolo, Michael Zoumas in partnership Atomic Cartoon’s Jennifer Twiner McCarron, Matthew Berkowitz and Aaron Behl.
The animated series Oddballs will debut on Netflix later this year.
The Netflix Animation Showcase at this year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival, featured award-winning filmmakers and the Netflix team, and celebrated Netflix’s variety of animated stories across its preschool, kids, anime, adult, and family tent poles films and series.
