Mobile entertainment major Indiagames has entered into an agreement with Japan based Toho Co Ltd, producer of the long running monster franchise Godzilla, for developing wireless content based on the same.
The first Godzilla movie released in 1954. 50 years hence and 28 Godzilla flicks later, the franchise’s popularity hasn’t lowered.
Speaking to Animation ‘xpress, Indiagames CEO Vishal Gondal informed, “The Godzilla property has been very popular throughout the world for over 50 years and has been successfully translated into Movies, T.V., games, toys, video games and other merchandise. Indiagames is pleased to be associated with this mega property for mobile phones and thinks it is one of the best properties that Indiagames can leverage across its global distribution network”
The wireless content will be made available worldwide (except in Japan). It includes 2 mobile games along with wallpapers, screen savers, ring tones, ringers, alerts etc. The games will consist of many Toho monster characters like Mohtra, King Ghidorah, Mechagodzilla, Gigan etc.
Shozo Watanabe, General Manager, Toho (Los Angeles office) claimed in an official release that Toho was expecting the games to bring back the thrill of Godzilla to mobile phones the world over.
