Marvel announced the official release date and first poster of its upcoming animated series I Am Groot for Disney+.
The first look poster features the titular Guardians of the Galaxy seen relaxing in the most comfortable position. The animated series will follow a baby Groot enjoying his days by growing up and getting into trouble among the stars.
I Am Groot will comprise of ten original shorts and will premiere on 10 August 2022.
Earlier the series was named as Guardian of the Galaxy triology and later it was changed as I am Groot. The series will be written and directed by James Gunn. Gunn will also serve as an executive producer on the series as well. Vin Diesel, who has voiced the character for all of his appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will reprise his role for the series.
Groot is the first member of the Guardians to receive his own solo series for Disney+.
Guardians of the Galaxy part three releases in theatres on 5 May 2023.
