Sony PIX is going to premiere How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (aka How to Train Your Dragon 3) for the first time on television on 30 August 2020 at 1 pm and 9 pm.
A 2019 animated action fantasy film, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World is loosely based on Cressida Cowell’s book series by the same name. It’s co-produced by DreamWorks Animation, Dentsu and Fuji Television, and distributed by Universal Pictures.
Written and directed by Dean DeBlois, it is the sequel to How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014) and the third and final installment in the How to Train Your Dragon franchise. The film has a notable voice cast including the likes of Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, Cate Blanchett, Craig Ferguson, and F. Murray Abraham. The animated feature revolves around Hiccup who’s seeking a dragon utopia called ‘The Hidden World’ while coming to terms with Toothless’ new bond with a female Light Fury.
How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World was the first DreamWorks Animation film to be distributed by Universal Pictures. It received great reviews from critics and fans alike for its animation, voice acting, and weight of the conclusion. It fared equally well at the box-office by grossing over $521 million worldwide, and becoming the fifth highest-grossing animated film of 2019. The film was also nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 92nd Academy Awards.
