Guru Bhaai running on mobile phones

If one were to look at the number of stars that feature on it these days, the Mobile Phone is turning into one hell of a blockbuster!

After the turn of film celebrities like John Abraham, Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee it is now the turn of heart throb, cum versatile actor Abhishek Bachchan‘s turn to star in Mobile Games.

Taking the initiative, Indiatimes, amongst the country‘s leading portals which is also into mobile VAS in a big way has launched a game named Guru which is based on the story line of Mani Ratnam‘s movie Guru.

The Guru game has been developed by Delhi based IGAME Studio for Indiatimes‘ mobile Value Added Service which can be downloaded on Mobile through 8888 or Indiatimes‘ website.

Guru is a 2D side scrolling single player Arcade action game in which the player (Abhishek replica) has to catch a myriad of objects in the various levels, which will add to his points. The player can move up and down on three steps and within a set time, he has to grab the object to earn the points.

Indiatimes‘ spokesperson commented “This is a very simple and easy to play Java Based Mobile game launched by Indiatimes. The game will also be popular amongst those who are not regular gamers. At each level, the player has a target (silk yarn, coin bags, money bags, gold bars, diamonds etc.) to achieve. We are expecting at least 20,000 unique users and total download of 50,000 by March 2007” he added.

The game is made on the J2ME platform and production was completed well within 30 days with a team of seven people.
