Holi, the festival of colors is just around the corner and a lot of media entertainment content being generated this week is ‘Holi’ themed.
Delhi based Fusion Toonz recently completed development and porting of its Holi themed Mobile Java Game Rang De. The Game was launched on Indiatimes.com on March 10.
Speaking to Animation ‘xpress, Fusiontoonz Animation Studio Head Swati Gupta commented,”Market research hints that seasonal themes spur a lot of activity and downloads for mobile and online content and we anticipate a good response to this Holi game that we have developed at Fusion Toonz”
“Rang De features three levels. The duration of the 1st Level is 90 seconds, 2nd Level is 120 seconds and 3rd Level is 150 seconds. Total gameplay duration is 360 seconds. The game took one month from concept to final testing, while porting took another 10 days. We are providing compatibility to 132 handsets currently” she added.
The protagonist of the game is Bichu who is out to play Holi with the other characters in the game. People are hiding behind the trees. One needs to help ‘Bicchu’ to hit them with water balloons when they appear from hiding, but avoid the colour buckets & bhaang glasses when one jumps, as they reduce energy level. Also one has to save ‘Bichhu’ from being hit with water balloons by other kids. Collect mithai and gifts to earn bonus points.
Fusion Toonz is also involved in the making of animated commercials as well as in animation content for elearning systems.
The studio recently concluded an elearning project for a leading chain of pharmacy stores in the US. It involved training of its mentors and technicians on the code of conduct, workflow process, maintenance, codification, diseases, symptoms, medication, etc
“E-learning is quite a different field which requires different kinds of talent like graphic designers, SME’s, Instructional Designers, Software Engineers and if the project has animation (2D/3D) then 2D artists and animators, 3D modelers and animators and programmers. E-learning works on certain standards that are followed throughout one project. The people working on such projects need to understand the file size limitation, medium of output and channel of distribution” concluded Swati.
