fmx/07, the International Conference On Animation, Effects, Realtime and Content begins May 01 2007

fmx/07, the 12th International Conference On Animation, Effects, Realtime and Content will take place in Haus der Wirtschaft, Stuttgart from May 01 to 04, 2007.

This year, fmx will hold workshops and screenings from the best of the best – covering the creation, production and distribution of the whole palette of digital imagery, from cinema and television to games, mobile entertainment and visual computing.

For those who are new to the industry or looking for new opportunities, fmx/recruiting will be expanded into a full series of panels, desks and sessions.

fmx/07 will also run back-to-back with the internationally recognized International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) which runs from April 26 to May 01, 2007. This enables artists, speakers and visitors to profit from two top-quality events with one visit. The one-day overlap is also a fitting moment for the Animation Production Day, a joint fmx and ITFS event highlighting Europe‘s leading producers of animated film.

fmx saw an attendance of over 5,000 visitors from 35 countries last year, including Disney, Dreamworks, Electronic Arts, Industrial Light+Magic, Pixar, Sony Pictures Imageworks and Weta in the fmx/conference series.

In addition, 74 partner companies were present as well in the in fmx/forum, offering face-to-face insights into the latest tools and coming releases. All in all, visitors experienced over 350 speakers including behind-the-scenes presentations of the technical and artistic creativity driving films such as The Chronicles of Narnia, King Kong, Monster House, Open Season, Over the Hedge, Sin City and Wallace & Gromit.
