Its Lights, Camera & Action at DQ Entertainment this October

DQ Entertainment International, the global entertainment group organised a short film making contest on the eve of International Animation Day, 28th October 2012 for all its associates. The contest was thrown open to DQE associates on the last week of September , with open topics and a time line of three to seven minutes length of the short films.

Amidst the company’s busy project delivery schedules, around 60 teams registered for the contest to showcase their skills in the short filmmaking which constituted a healthy mix of both live action and animation short films. The main purpose of the contest was to provide a platform for DQE’s associates to fire up their creative talents and showcase their remarkable story telling, narration, acting/animation and cinematography abilities .The registrations indicated that the contest was not just being participated by the company’s production associates but also by members ranging from support functions across divisions like sales, legal, new media and by other management associates.


Sumedha Saraogi, Senior Vice President-Global Business Development said, “The response from our Associates to this contest has been amazing. The themes presented are unique and portray several issues of social and national importance. Based on the response this year we have decided to celebrate the International Animation Day by conducting a Short film contest every year and will even consider opening it to students undergoing film and animation training on a nationwide basis.”

Hatim Adenwala, Senior Vice President-HR commented, ”We did not expect such a resounding response from our associates! We are extremely happy that the event was such a huge success in igniting the creative and latent talents of our associates .It has created an exhilarating atmosphere within the company and I am eagerly looking forward to seeing all the wonderful films produced by them.”

The teams also produced very creative & colorful posters of their respective short films which generated huge excitement in the company. An internal screening of all the submitted films is scheduled in November across its studios to choose the top 3 short films from among them.
