DNEG Montreal brings Generalist Greenlight program to train aspiring artists

Academy Award-winning studio DNEG announces a training program called Generalist Greenlight program. They are now accepting applications and are open to recent graduates and junior professionals in Montreal.

The DNEG Montreal Generalist Greenlight program will cover the broad spectrum of work undertaken by our compositing and lighting team. Trainees will be placed into a live production environment and will receive classroom training, tutorials, and mentorship from our training team, supervisors and lead artists.

Upon completion of the program, Greenlight alumni will also join the community of DNEG Greenlighters  and may be offered the opportunity to join their team.

Here is the program detail:

Part One – Classroom Training, will run for five weeks.

Part Two– On Production Training, will run for a further seven weeks.

  • Trainees will gain experience on current feature film and TV projects where they will receive on the job training from experienced VFX artists in a live production environment.
  • At weeks 10 and 12 trainees will be assessed, and at the 12-week assessment point decisions will be made as to whether trainees will be offered the opportunity to progress into roles with DNEG once the training program is complete.
  • Greenlight offers an accelerated pathway into high-end VFX work – trainees who successfully complete the full training program are regularly offered junior artist roles.
  • Trainees will be paid for the duration of the placement. DNEG does not currently provide housing or transportation assistance for this program.
