Disney has announced that it has extended an overall deal with Travis Braun, an Emmy Award-nominated writer and producer, which will see him develop and produce both animated and live-action content across linear and streaming platforms for Disney branded television.
Additionally, as part of the same announcement, a new series called Pupstruction is being created by Braun for the preschool audience. The puppy-themed preschool series sounds quite adorable and is game to be a hit among kids.
Set to premiere on Disney Junior and Disney+ in 2023, animated adventure Pupstruction is created and executive produced by Braun. The series follows the adventures of the world’s first all-dog construction company and the smallest pup on the crew, Phinny, who is an innovative young corgi. Despite being the smallest pup, he proves that you don’t need big paws to have big dreams or big ideas. Which is an important lesson for the little ones watching.
Vic Cook (T.O.T.S.) serves as executive producer, Robyn Brown (Muppet Babies) is co-producer and story editor and Abigail Nesbitt (T.O.T.S.) is supervising director. LA-based studio Titmouse (Big Mouth, Arlo The Alligator Boy) is producing the series in association with Disney Junior.
“I’m thrilled to continue to call Disney my home and bring imaginative, new worlds to life under the thoughtful leadership of Peter Rice, Gary Marsh, Joe D’Ambrosia, Ayo Davis and their teams. We share a passion for telling rich stories that matter to audiences around the world in the way that Disney’s content always has. It is truly a privilege to help write this next chapter of the magic that I grew up on,” said Braun.
Adding to the deal’s slate, Disney branded television is developing From the Desk of Zoe Washington, a live-action film based on the 2020 book of the same name by Janae Marks. Also announced at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour, Disney Television Animation is releasing two new Mickey Mouse films on Disney Junior this year. Mickey’s Tales of Two Witches, which revolves around in-training witches who join forces to take down a mischievous ghost, premieres 7 October. On 2 December, Disney Junior will bow Mickey and Minnie Wish Upon a Christmas where Mickey and the gang scramble to reach a magical star so they can wish everyone home in time for Christmas. Rob LaDuca and Mark Seidenberg (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse) are executive producers on both films.
Currently, Braun serves as creator and executive producer on Disney Junior’s hit series T.O.T.S. His additional credits include the Disney Channel limited-series Fast Layne and Disney Junior’s Vampirina, Puppy Dog Pals and Muppet Babies.
His past animation writing credits include Netflix’s original series Turbo FAST and the animated short Charlie and Mr. Two, which he created for Nickelodeon. He previously worked on the CBS drama “Criminal Minds.”
Pupstruction is slated to premiere on Disney Junior and Disney+ in 2023.
