Disney+ has announced a brand new animated series of the popular, The Proud Family, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, along with a new poster of a character named Maya.
The new series will focus on the central character, Penny Proud and her madcap family members – parents Oscar and Trudy, twin siblings BeBe and CeCe, and her grandmother Suga Mama (and Puff!) alongside Penny’s loyal crew Dijonay Jones, LaCienega Boulevardez and Zoey Howzer, among others.
Academy Award-winning creator/executive producer Bruce W. Smith took to social media to announce a special virtual reunion of The Proud Family that happened yesterday, 6 August 2020.
The cast and executive producers of the popular animated series were reunited virtually during the NAACP’s Arts, Culture & Entertainment Festival. Moderated by Keke Palmer, who’s joining the cast of Disney+’s The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, the panel featured Kyla Pratt (Penny Proud), Tommy Davidson (Oscar Proud), Paula Jai Parker (Trudy Proud), Jo Marie Payton (Suga Mama), Cedric the Entertainer (Uncle Bobby), Smith and executive producer Ralph Farquhar.
Their conversation brought back the memories and the cultural impact of the Disney series which premiered 18 years ago, along with a glimpse of the exciting new series coming exclusively to Disney+.
