Crunchyroll makes bigger plans for the next installment of the annual Anime Awards, and the seventh edition is officially bringing its celebration of creators to Japan. The Anime Awards live ceremony will be held on 4 March 2023 at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa, and will also be streamed across many of Crunchyroll’s social media channels.
The Anime Awards will bring the studios, creators, musicians and voice actors behind the anime community’s favourite series, films and music together in a style as unique as the art form itself.
“There is no better place to celebrate the Anime Awards than the birthplace of anime itself. Anime is a rich storytelling medium, capturing the hearts and minds of fans all over the world. We can’t wait to showcase how much love the global anime fanbase has for the studios, creators, and our trusted partners behind anime,” said Crunchyroll president Rahul Purini.
Last year saw a record 16.9 million votes cast for nominees across nearly 40 anime studios and a record-high eight streaming platforms, with both fans and judges weighing in on their favourites. Nominees and voting for the next Anime Awards will open early next year, and more information will be shared across the official website and Crunchyroll social channels.
