cgTantra and ABAI are back in action with series of workshops in multiple cities under the event named as “LEARN INSPIRE GROW”. Marking the start of this event, a workshop on modeling and fur was conducted in Delhi last month.
Now the next stop is Bangalore. In association with ANTS, a whole day event on 18th February is being held at Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan starting from 09:30 am onwards.
Speaking to AnimationXpress.com, Gokul, Co-founder of cgTantra, said, “As our motto is Learn Inspire Grow, we are doing these events which will create awareness and students, professionals, hobbyist all can learn from each other, get inspired from others and grow together. We recently did an event in Delhi on modeling & fur workshop, the members irrespective of their schedule did a workshop based on their experience, which helped lots of students and even professionals. Even now, we have people like Dhimant Vyas, Siju Thomas, Chand, I and many more traveling to Bangalore irrespective of our day to day schedule. We expect, those who missed the anniversary event, will definitely benefit from us visiting their city.”
Commenting on the event, ANTS MD Chetan S. shared, “This event is aimed at bringing the student community closer to the industry and also in working towards increasing their learning curve. Interactive workshops are the best teachers along with the academic pursuits and which better way than getting all students from different academies to experience some form of reality under one roof. The Chief Guest for the event will be the noted film maker Kavitha Lankesh and The Guest of Honour will be Anand Parthasarthy, Consulting Editor (IT)-THE HINDU.
Following is the itinerary for the full day event:
9.30am – 10.30am – clips of ABAI & cgT montage and speech from dignitaries
10.40am -12.00pm – Aardman studio experience by Dhimant Vyas. Aardman studio is famous for movies like Chicken Run, Wallace & Gormit etc.
12.00pm – 1.15pm – Mighty Pencil by Vinayak & Shyam Shriram, Mighty pencil is about regardless of the fact, where your animation is going to end up, on a digital screen in 3D or on a mobile game in 2D, no matter how big your production scale may be, it all begins with pencil on paper.
1.15pm – 2.30pm – Lunch
2.30pm – 3.45pm – Creature design – Interactive session by Siju Thomas, this being followed after mighty pencil, will be stressing more on drawing, and doâ€?s & donâ€?tâ€?s before designing creatures.
3.45pm – 5.00pm – Short film – Case study – Bala moderated by Chand, since Bad Egg won the Gold medal in New York festival, lets talk about concept to screen, which will be highlighting again the importance of drawing etc.,
5.00pm -5.30om – Showcasing the “SWORD IN STONE” entries & taking vote from audience & announcing the winners & prizes.
5.30pm – 5.45pm – cgTantra future plans in association with ABAI, example, we are planning for three day stop motion workshop with Dhimant, possibly in Mumbai & BLR, Pixar workshops in future etc. and features of new cgTantra presented by cgT members.
5.45pm – 6.00pm – Thanks note from cgT & ABAI for sponsors and participants.
