Last week was celebration time at the DQ camp with three of the shows that it had worked on being nominated for the Emmys. The dream run continues this week with Pet Pals and Mickey Mouse Club House being nominated for the Pulcinella Awards (Cartoons on the Bay, Italy) under the categories TV Series for Infants and Educational and Social Programme UNICEF, respectively.
DQ was involved in the animation production for both the shows.
The announcement of the nominations was made on 28th February and the winners will be announced during the 11th International festival on Television Animation-Cartoon on the Bay from 19th to 22nd April in Salerno, Italy.
Speaking to AnimationXpress.com on being nominated, DQ Ent. MD and CEO Tapaas Chakravarti shared, “The Pulcinella Awards are very prestigious and it is an honour for us to have our shows to be once again recognized at this forum.”
Last year, DQ won the Pulcinella Award for Best TV Series-Action and Adventure Award for the show �Skyland�, produced for Nickelodeon, France2-France method films and ITV England.
Pet Pals
Pet Pals is a show about travelers who are restless at home. The characters are called Pet Pals. Traveling is their greatest desire and what could be more adventurous than visiting the mysterious world of fairy tales, sagas and legends? New animal friends guide them through the territories of fantasy, magic, popular beliefs, without neglecting the red line of ethological education, which has always been the special feature of this series.
Mickey Mouse Club House is an educational show for pre-schoolers. Mickey appears in 3D for the first time in this TV series. Each episode has the characters help viewers solve a specific age-appropriate problem utilizing basic skills, such as identifying shapes and counting to ten. The series uses Playhouse Disneyâ€?s “whole child” curriculum of cognitive, social and creative learning opportunities.
