The AVGC Investor Summit organized by ABAI in association with Department of ITBT, GoK will be held on 10th April 2012, at Hotel Lalit Ashok (Lalit 3&4) in Bangalore from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. M R Balakrishnan, Vice President, ABAI and Managing Director, Mediatek will give the welcome address, which will be followed by the Curtain Raiser by Biren Ghose, President ABAI and Country head, Technicolor India. Special address will be given by Mr M N Vidyashankar, Principal Secretary Department of IT,BT,S&T and e-Governance, Government of Karnataka and inaugural address by Mr Suresh Kumar, Hon’ble Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights, BWSSB, Government of Karnataka and Vote of Thanks by Mr Ankur Bhasin, Secretary, ABAI And Director, BhasinSoft Animation.
The summit will see the keynote address by Mr T V Mohandas Pai, Chairman, Manipal Global Education Services Pvt. Ltd and Mr Alok Kejriwal, Owner & Founder, 2Win Group will be giving a insightful address on “The Entrepreneurship Journey”
Speaking to AnimationXpress.com Biren Ghose, President ABAI and Country Head Technicolor shared, “AVGC is the fastest growing ‘cluster’ in the Indian entertainment space. India based production entities are increasingly becoming the ‘digital turbo power’ collaborating with international partners and clients to create the next generation of global content. This summit is a 1st ever ‘deep dive’ focused on investments getting all the key stake holders in ‘one room’ to take deliberate on the public-private partnership (PPP) initiatives announced in the Karnataka AVGC policy. They will ‘connect the dots’ and identify a ‘road map’ between the industry, government and investors. I expect significant traction to emerge during and after these interactions triggering deals and prospects among the participants.”
M R Balakrishnan, Vice President, ABAI and Managing Director, Mediatek shared, “The investors meet in Bangalore is being organized to create a greater awareness amongst the potential investors about the initiatives by Government of Karnataka to support the AVGC industry. It will offer the heads of the industry an exposure with the potential investor and how they can work with them. The summit will provide an opportunity for the concerned authorities in the government to get a better understanding with the potential investor and thus create a better comfort level to operate in this space. ABAI would like to announce certain programs such as creating a platform for Entrepreneurs to pitch to the investor and such similar events in the near future.
