Animation and VFX enthusiasts, gear up to celebrate the spirit of Indian Animation as ASIFA India’s International Animation Day (IAD) 2013, slated for 9th November at Bandra in Mumbai, is all set with an amazing line up.
Last year, IAD was celebrated across 6 cities in India from 28 Oct – 4 Nov and saw a footfall of 3200+ attendees and this year will surely follow the suit and be bigger!
So what is the most appealing aspect of this IAD edition, we hear this from ASIFA INDIA Representative “IAD, this year, will see a unique showcase of the most groundbreaking independent and commercial Animation being produced in the local industry today. By staying true to the spirit and upholding one of our mottos of blending art and technology, through IAD we would like to make available invaluable knowledge and information by the industry experts.”
Attendees will meet and greet the industry experts and experience different Animation mediums, conceptualizing ideas, story development, implementing and the production process through creative and engaging movie presentations.
The event will take off with a session by Shilpa Ranade, Director of Animated film’ The World of Goophi and Bagha’, who will take the audiences behind the scenes of this globally applauded film.
Next comes, Vaibhav Kumaresh- Founder of Vaibhav Studios, who will guide the attendees on the art of telling their own story, along with showcasing a sneak peak of his under development animated film “Return of the Jungle”
Vaibhav shares, “At Vaibhav Studios we have been producing short format content for a decade now. There’s no doubt we thoroughly enjoyed the process and i am glad our audiences enjoyed our films too! However the urge to tell longer stories had been growing on us for a long time. Return of the Jungle is our attempt to satisfy that urge. I plan to share this very philosophy of ours with the festival audience. We’ll be sharing everything we have done so far on the project in as nutshell a manner as possible. My presentation will include peeks into the animatics, songs, play blast line ups, as well as some finished clips. I hope all this will lead into a healthy discussion with the audience at the end!
Shri Hanuman Chalisa, an animated 3D musical short by Charuvi Design Labs will also be discussed by Charuvi Agrawal, Founder of the studio.
Charuvi unveils her plans for this session “I will showcase the inside look of Shri Hanuman Chalisa- the 3d film and exhibition, Breakdown of the complete CG film – cheat sheet /creative problem solving examples, the development of physical immersive project and will also speak on Bridging the gap between CG and Art in today’s time.”
And last but not the least; Rhythm and Hues will bring you the VFX making of Oscar winning ‘Life of Pi’, which has taken Indian VFX industry a level higher.
“All these films have unique stories and a medium of art that will benefit all immensely if shared with a wider audience.”ASIFA INDIA
