The Apple original animated film, Luck, produced by Skydance Animation, has dropped the official trailer. The film revealed the exclusive first-look footage at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
Directed by Peggy Holmes from a script by Kiel Murray, the story follows Sam Greenfield, the unluckiest person in the world, as she enters the Land of Luck only to set out on a quest to bring some good luck home for her best friend. But with humans not allowed inside, her only chance is to team up with the magical creatures who live there to pull it off.
The voice cast features Jane Fonda, Whoopi Goldberg, Noblezada, Pegg, Flula Borg, Lil Rel Howery, Colin O’Donoghue, John Ratzenberger and Adelynn Spoon. John Lasseter, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and David Eisenmann produced the animated film.
The film joins an expanding lineup of projects produced by the Apple Original Films and Skydance Animation partnership, alongside upcoming titles including Spellbound and the animated series The Search for WondLa. Several more feature films and television series will soon be announced. Luck follows the inaugural project in the collaboration, the poignant CG animated short film, Blush, written and directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Joe Mateo (Prep & Landing, Big Hero 6), composed by Hollywood Music in Media Awards winner Joy Ngiaw (Red, Fish Head), now streaming on Apple TV+.
Luck will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on 5 August.
