Shri Guru Gobind Singhji Institute of Engineering & Technology, Nanded, is organizing it‘s third annual technical festival, Pragyaa from the 23rd to the 25th of February 2007 and the good news is that animation is also a part of it.
Owing to the number of students aspiring to become animators, the organizers of Pragyaa have put together an animation competition, Pasticcio as part of the festival this year.
To enter the competition the minimum qualification is a graduation in any field with number of participants being two from each team. The competition is sectioned into two parts, E-Pragyaa and Main Pragyaa.
The sole aim behind organizing E- Pragyaa is to invite those students who are unable to make it to the event and can participate from wherever they are across the country.
Entries for the E event would have to be in the gif format (Graphical Interchange Format) and each entry should not exceed 25 seconds. The intermediate screen shots of frames along with comments for should be sent as well.
Since the theme of Pragyaa this year is ‘Service to Society‘, the movie should display awareness about health problems prevalent in society like AIDS, leprosy, polio and so on. The format of the movie should be one that can be played by Windows Media Player 9 or Real Media Player ( like mpeg, .avi, etc.) For those looking to enter the contest exciting prizes such as pendrives and graphic cards are there to be won.
For E-Pragyaa, entries have to be sent to pragyaa.pasticcio@gmail.com. Registration for the same can be done on the official website of the festival which is www.pragyaa.sggsnanded.org on which further information regarding the technical event can also be found.
Besides Pasticcio there are other competitions as well which are categorized under Zenith, Silicon Brain, Velocity and Entertainment.
Founded in 1981 by the Government of Maharashtra, Shri Guru Gobind Singhji Institute of Engineering & Technology is now an autonomous institution and is chaired by B.M Kalyani.
Pragyaa poses as being a truly new age technical festival with the events being those in sync with the latest technology.
