Animantz ties up with Monster Distributes (Ireland) for ‘Fun Run’

Chennai-based Animantz Creative Animators Pvt. Ltd. is developing the 2D animated series, Fun Run. The first phase of 13 episodes will be completed this October and the studio is planning to release the entire series by 2012 year end.

Animantz has tied up with Monster Distributes from Ireland to distribute their content on all platforms worldwide. The first three episodes of Fun Run were screened at MIPCOM 2011 by the distributors. “Fun Run” has also been one of the nominees at FICCI BAF Awards 2012 under Animated Episode category.

Fun Run is a collection of stories based on the fun run happening between animals for their food (prey), shelter, friendship, enmity etc either in the Jungle or Polar or City. Initially Animantz had planned a series of episodes in the Jungle.

The animated series has been designed for the kids and the family. It is made by a team of 13 members with the aid of softwares like Adobe Flash and Adobe After Effects. Currently three episodes and a trailer is ready.
Talking to AnimationXpress.com, Prabakar T, CEO, Animantz Creative Animators Pvt. Ltd. Shared, “As the story itself involves just chasing or running happening between animals, we felt that the dialogues are not needed rather we can show the fun by their expressions and actions which will also be quite challenging. Michael Maurer, the script writer of Fun Run, has provided the real fun through interesting stories which is not predictable and sounds interesting too.”

About the challenges faced Prabakar said, “The challenging part in developing Fun Run is trying to bring out the fun by animation and expressions alone as there are no dialogues and of course we spend more time in tweaking the story board. This animation series is the outcome of a thought process of showing the animals’ real life adventure with a sense of humor”.

Animantz has worked on nearly 1000 minutes of animation content with various clients worldwide on episodes, webisodes and E-learning material. The studio has worked on 15 episodes x 7 minutes for an Egypt client, Brain Storm; has developed 13 episodes x 5 minutes in Spanish for USA client; for a Dubai client- Zeytoon Productions, 5 episodes x 7 minutes, for a Bangalore-based company, Astrarka Animantz did 90 minutes of animation; and for Mexus Education, Gujarat, it has developed nearly 400 minutes of animation.
