Newest content in Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege‘s Year 5, Season 2, is now live. Following the release of the new Siege update, a brand-new limited-time event on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One has begun called Mute Protocol
The official Rainbow Six Siege Twitter account posted an announcement informing fans that the Mute Protocol event has been halted after one day over an exploit. The exploit in question is players’ ability to turn invisible during matches, with many fans complaining that every game they entered was filled with opponents taking advantage of it.
The M.U.T.E Protocol Event has been temporarily deactivated after the discovery of an exploit.
We are working on a fix and hope to deliver it very soon. The event and Club Challenges will be extended once the fix is out.
We will update everyone as soon as we have more to share!— Rainbow Six Siege (@Rainbow6Game) August 5, 2020
Starting on 4 August and scheduled to run until 17 August, the newest event from Ubisoft, Mute Protocol, is a modified Secure Area event that takes place in a futuristic-looking Tower.
Mute Protocol gives Rainbow Six Siege a science fiction makeover with a retro futuristic tone. Ubisoft’s tactical shooter has made waves in the genre since its release in 2015, and it remains one of the company’s most popular releases in the past decade. Its popularity could even bring it a Splinter Cell crossover, according to rumors.
41 of Rainbow Six Siege‘s 56 Operators will be playable, with Twitch, Thatcher, Mozzie, Mute, Maestro, Valkyrie, Dokkaebi, Echo, Goyo, Clash, Montagne, Blitz, and Caveira all being gated off for “gameplay reasons.” Ubisoft didn’t specify why these 13 characters won’t be playable in Mute Protocol.
