Epic’s Fortnite has more than 350 million registered players, and in April players have spent more than 3.2 billion hours in-game, the game developer announced in an official twitter post.

In addition to that Fortnite Downtime is scheduled for today and will be kicking off at around 7am GMT, on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Mobile. A new message from Epic Games explains: “A maintenance patch requiring downtime is scheduled to release on 7May. Downtime will begin at 2 AM ET (0600 UTC). We’ll update you here both when downtime begins and ends.”
The scheduled maintenance is expected to last less than three hours and Epic Games has been keeping things quiet about what is being planned for this patch, but it seems likely that there will be some Party Royale content included.
The last player count stat we heard from Epic was about 250 million in March 2019, indicating that the game is still growing a year later and more than two and a half years after its initial release. That’s partly due to the game being so readily available on all platforms — PC, console, and mobile and because Epic continues to update it silently.
Most recently, the developer added party royale, a gun-free social space within the game that allows players to log in and hang out with friends, watch concerts from big-name music acts, and engage in a variety of theme park-style activities whose Premiere LIVE on 8May at 9PM ET .
