The Bhaskar Group has launched Yo, a bilingual magazine for children for the Chandigarh market targeting readers of the 9-14 age bracket. Yo is a bi-monthly tabloid, which will be distributed on alternate Fridays with the Dainik Bhaskar.
The Chandigarh edition of Dainik Bhaskar has a readership of 2.12 lakhs as per the NRS ’05 and is the leader. This launch further strengthens the Bhaskar Group’s offering for children, they already have a children magazine Bal Bhaskar- which is distributed on alternate Fridays with the main paper, according to an official release.
Says Bhaskar Group director Girish Agarwal, “Yo content are for the young. We have launched it to meet the real need of today’s children . It will engage them on their interests and issues in their own language. It will contain contests, puzzles, comics,stories and more. It will also invite suggestions from its young readers to approve, rate and add to the content.”
Bhaskar Group senior GM Sanjeev Kotnala adds, “Yo from Bhaskar is bilingual keeping in focus the reader’s and their families dream of a cosmopolitan existence in a rapidly globalizing world, without losing their core Hindi identity.
